We don't notice, but we learn for most of the time. The time we spend on working, recreation, looking up for Excel sheets, making a presentation, teaching others, we understand it, we associate it with our past, we look for hints, we learn new things, and that is stored in memory back, so that we can use it again. Most of the time these things go unnoticed. We emphasize learning only when we are taking classes or exams. But learning happens without our consciousness too. Different types of memory like procedural memory, working memory, episodic memory work together to achieve the process of learning. Learning takes a lot of brain energy and efforts, so it becomes more and more important to understand how to learn effectively that results in best outcome. Our learning should neither be too slow and little that we get bored to hell and neither it should be too tiring and fast that we end up forgetting most of the things. We should not rely on fate for our learning experience as it is a big factor that determines our success in professional lives and personal accomplishments.

4 W's of Learning Psychology
Learning Psychology is a branch of psychology that deals with learning, adapting to environment, assessments and many more areas that encompass learning. There are many theories and concept by many psychologists to explain 'how we learn', 'many types of learning', 'many ways to learn', 'steps of learning' etc.
I would start my first blog post with 4 W's: That is 'What', 'Where', 'When' and 'Why'.
So first of all I will start with 'What'.
What is Learning?
Learning is an activity that powers us. We do something, somethings happen to us and we learn something. This learning is shown by exhibiting difference in behaviour or knowledge from the phase prior to learning. We learn as we interact with our environment. Learning is an essential skill that empowers us and improves our quality of life.
Where is learning psychology used?
Learning studied as a field of psychology is used in educational institutes, test administrations, hospitals, academia, helping a patient of dementia to cope with everyday life, developing IQ, EQ tests, Aptitude tests for corporations, treatment of learning disorders.
When do we need to get involved in process?
We need to understand that we can benefit from a lot of concepts, theories that helps to learn faster. Sometimes those who can't catch up in classrooms or those who might be suspected of learning disorder do need to consult a licenced psychologist for help. On the other hand we need to go to a counsellor when we need to get assessments like aptitude, personality asessments to get clarity in career decisions. We can also take help by reading texts from learning psychology books that are based on research and supported by professionals.
Why should I bother?
Lastly I want to mention why you should learn a subject like this one.
We are species who relied on our learning most of the time in the past and that had made us most intellectual and evolved species than other organisms.
Learning is something we do consciously and subconsciously. Most of the time we are not aware that we are learning. So learning through techniques that provides better results do help a lot. Whether you want to ace an exam or choose a career you can take help from such techniques and psychologists that specialise in career counselling.
